Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt lost 18 lbs. in 10 weeks by working out regularly. "I am in a pretty good workout regimen that I like, so it inspired me to keep it up,” Hewitt, 29, tells Us Weekly. "The energy level and the way I feel now is great."
In November, Hewitt came under fire for having gained some weight when photos of her on vacation in Hawaii surfaced. In the pictures, Jennifer, who was vacationing with her fiance, Scottish actor Ross McCall, appeared heavier than usual in a black bikini.
The Ghost Whisperer star was mercilessly teased in tabloids and websites for having packed on weight and for having cellulite on her butt. TMZ.com, for example, wrote: "We know what you ate this summer, Love — everything!"
Shortly afterward, Hewitt angrily insisted on her Web site that she was not fat and railed against the media for promoting unrealistic standards of thinness. She wrote: "I've sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women's bodies are constantly scrutinized.... What I should be doing is celebrating some of the best days of my life and my engagement to the man of my dreams, instead of having to deal with photographers taking invasive pictures from bad angles."
But Hewitt is singing a different tune now that she has dropped the excess weight. “With her, it’s not, ‘I want to look good in that dress,’” said her trainer Stevie Sant’Angelo. “She wanted to start moving around because she thought it would make her feel better. She told me, ‘They said some rude, mean things, but that’s not why I wanted to change.' "
Whatever the motivation for her newly slimmed-down figure, Hewitt looks great. Keep it up, Jen!
